IYNGES EQUINOX! National Grids's Apparition.
Equal day, equal night. Can of Pabst and cup of coffee. National Grid offers up the perfect soundtrack to kick in the vernal and eternal.
Apparition is a meditation on time, memory, and the states of childhood. Vague sense impressions float up from recesses of the mind, winter sunshine streaming on cream colored naugahyde backseats, the bricked channels of tenement house alleyways, tinny piano music tinkling in dance studios of elderly Polish ballerinas, linoleum aisles of liquor stores, the dark wood of ancient banisters, TV dinners in aluminum trays served on plastic folding card tables, Star Trek, curtain lace and dread. The cover depicts the artist as a boy with his father.
Using 70s TV bumper theme music as a primary source, Apparition manipulates and processes them into shimmering, spectral landscapes reminiscent of the era's progressive headkings Popol Vuh and David Hykes & the Harmonic Choir.

OUT NOW! East of Borneo's Larkspur Sessions.
Just in time for the day of the marmota monax comes an electro-acoustic, improvisational expedition from East of Borneo. This one is for fans of John Zorn's Film Works, Bobby Beausoleil's soundtrack to Lucifer Rising, Clara Rockmore's virtuosic-outerspace-Theremin performances, and cantina bands on the edge of last call.

OUT NOW! SETH PAYNTER & KEVIN PATTON (IYN-016)
Happy Halloween!!!! IYNGES-style. Excited to bring you this long-awaited release from Paynter (reeds) and Patton (computer).
Barbara Rose Lange says:
Fresnel features the duo of Houston’s Seth Paynter on sax and ethnic reeds, and brundleFLY. brundleFLY is an interactive processor created and directed by Kevin Patton. In real time, brundleFLY analyzes Paynter’s multiphonics, trills, moans, and pitch glides and responds to them. brundleFLY removes an overtone or two from Paynter’s gradually morphing meditations on timbre and layers the altered sounds back in, judiciously adding analog-sounding beeps and static bursts as well as metallic clanks. Both Paynter and brundleFLY oscillate pitches narrowly; sustained electronic tones and reverb derive from Paynter’s own sound. As Paynter stops, layers pause slightly and electronic comments murmur to an end.

OUT NOW! NATIONAL GRID: MAR'DCORE (IYN-015)
IYNGES is proud to offer this BACK-TO-CRUEL special release from National Grid in its singular and most heinous form. 80 minutes of top-down oppression from the Utility-incarnate as one man with digital signal processing chops. Simultaneously sub- and supra-terranean, MARD'CORE exerts monopolistic, regional control splattering YOUR underclass, ground-level, popular balladry and leaving behind a catalog of unclassifiable stains.
Four hardcore classics are strapped to the effects rack and tortured from their original minute-and-a-half run times into twenty-minute squalling soundscapes. Cymbals transform into hissing cyborg snakes, snare hits become shuddering nitrous mirages. The bass is a subterranean leviathan, guitars squeal and skronk like saxophones fashioned from dripping flesh while primordial human screams echo up through the hundred thousand moshpits of history. MAR'DCORE evokes comparison to current trends in challenging music such as new media composition, power electronics, doom rock, psychedelic drone, and black metal, all the while honoring the primal brutality and timeless essence of hardcore. Ugly, loud, evil, beautiful.
Originally produced and released in 2006 in a miniscule CD-R run, IYNGES is pleased to present the offical digital release of MAR'DCORE with a new bonus track, Paranoid Chant.

2009, February 13
Friday the 13th! and IYNGES reaches catalog number 13! In the new batch are 4 brand new releases. Perhaps you've heard me ranting about these in the hallowed halls of Providence in recent weeks. They are:
IYN-009: Dave Public presents Cousin Mosquito 1999-2003
Lo! and behold. Dave Public (recently heard in the trio that brought you Killstick) digs through those speedy years of millenial craze and Olneyville fumes to select us some prime cuts. Remember when mosquitoes came in methamphetamine flavor? This downloadable makes a case to bring back that MDMA/MSG-laced taste. By 2003, Dave's Kafka-esque reverse-metamorphosis was over. This is THEE cool ranch / mesquite-smoked testament best served with hot knives.
IYN-011: James Amoeba: Hotel M
Amoeba returns! Fresh outta Walrus Prison, Amoeba now guns down the residents of Hotel M. This is blazing, crazing digital noise muzak. Stay off internet forums and flame out. This will make icicles form inside your ears.
IYN-012: K + M: Lyn Goeringer & Dave Harrington
IYN-013: Lyn Goeringer: Commute Series Volume 1
IYNGES is proud to bring you two releases from Lyn Goeringer's ongoing soundscape. IYN-012 is a duo project (Lyn on computer, steel box & Dave Harrington on lap steel guitar). The result? Like getting caught in a sentient tide, a enormous wave that wants to teach you the language of water. IYN-013 is the first installment of Lyn's Commute Series. At times both minimal and maximal, this work lulls the listener into some heavy psychoacoustic sessions while sensations of site/location/direction are modulated in mind/body/space. Recommended for remote viewing.
NO EAZY LISTENING HERE. See you at Crystal Lake!
